Maintenance Engineer

The Position 

As part of the maintenance team, reporting to the Reliability Engineer, the Maintenance Engineer contributes to the success of the organization by maximizing the utilization of plant assets by ensuring the highest level of equipment and process reliability. Work will vary in scope and complexity and will provide a variety of exposure to different chemical processes and industrial equipment

Overall, the Maintenance Engineer is accountable for plant reliability through effective engineering support of site maintenance work.

Ownership and mechanical design reviews of plant changes through the MOC process.

Providing engineering support and expertise to the maintenance department as required, ensuring the highest quality and accuracy of maintenance activities.

Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations and implementation of recommendations.

Execution of maintenance improvement projects using sound engineering and project management principles.

Development of specifications for equipment purchases and repairs. - Identification of maintenance and reliability improvement opportunities.

Work in a team environment and involve key site stakeholders in solutions and plans. Support to the site asset management goals and initiatives.

Facilitate RCM and PMO analysis of equipment and implementation of recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 5+ to 7 years of experience
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or other engineering discipline
  • Must be a registered EIT, PEng or be eligible for registration with APEGGA
  • Willingness to Travel – occasionally
  • Able to handle a large and varied workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organization skills.
  • Experience in safety management skills and practices.
  • Working knowledge of vibration measurement and interpretation, thermography and Infrared tools and techniques, lubrication and machinery alignment a plus.
  • Knowledge in pressure vessel, piping codes, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors and NDT inspection techniques a plus.
  • Experience working with MS Office and SAP
