Process / Manufacturing Engineer (Automotive)
The Position
- Leading and driving the Process Development and Design for manufacture at the plant ,process evaluations, cycle time
- calculations and efficiency.
- Work to meet customer score card responsibilities (e.g. volume variance and capacity database
- Ensuring proper PPAP and PSO readiness for process capability
- Work with project teams to accomplish multiple tasks
- Interface with plant personnel to ensure successful program launch and assist with problem solving.
- Implement lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Supporting the customer throughout the pre-SOP as required
- Communicating with cross functional teams to ensure smooth program launch and assist in problem solving
- Ability accomplish multiple tasks in a high paced environment
Qualifications
- Four (4) year technical degree
- 5 - 10 years experience working for an automotive supplier involved in a program launch
- 2+ years technical experience with metal forming, welding and assembly
- Strong process planning skills for assembly lines with welding, fixtures and gauging.
- Excellent understanding of PPAP, PSO, SPC, Gauges, GD&T, FMEA, APQP, 8D and problem solving with demonstrated hands on applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of CAD software with AutoCAD being the preference
- Working knowledge and understanding of MOST..
- The ability to interact with employees, customers and suppliers and portray a positive company image.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
