Process Engineer-Chemical
THE POSITION
- Overall responsibility of identifying and implementing chemical process improvements to improve safety and environmental compliance, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Provide daily plant technical support to Production Staff to meet the day to day manufacturing demands.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies in continuous improvements around safety and environmental compliance, quality, productivity, and capacity and capital planning
- Close interaction with Engineering department assisting in the identification, development, implementation and start-up of projects pertaining to safety, quality, efficiencies and energy reduction.
- Investigate non conformance quality, safety, and environmental events
- Champion ISO compliance, technical feasibility, cost evaluation, and plant trials for new product launches, and plant trials to reduce cost and/or improves quality and productivity.
- Provide coaching and feedback to production personnel.
- Provide training assistance to production employees
- Provide technical direction and quality focus on meeting customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years plus experience in Chemical Process Engineering in a production environment.
- Experience in a union environment is preferred.
- Experience at an ISO certified facility is preferred.
- Experience with use and trouble shooting of process control systems.
- Experience with DeltaV would be a definite asset
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
- AutoCAD and SAP
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering
- P.Eng designation or eligibility
